AMNN Objectives
The Aviation Museums National Network (AMNN) brings together community-based, volunteer-run aviation museums from across Australia to support collaboration, shared learning, and the preservation of Australia’s aviation heritage.
Established in 2008 and formally recognised as a Museums Australia National Network in 2010, AMNN provides a national forum for aviation museums to connect, exchange knowledge, and strengthen professional practice across the sector.
These objectives guide AMNN’s work in supporting aviation museums of all sizes and stages of development. Through collaboration, shared knowledge, and the promotion of good practice, the Network helps strengthen the sustainability of volunteer-run museums while encouraging broader understanding and appreciation of Australia’s aviation heritage within the community.
